About Us

Health & the City was developed in 2006 by dietitian and exercise physiologist Caitlin Reid. Moving from Geelong in Victoria to Sydney, Caitlin knows first hand how hard it is to achieve work-life balance. Trying to juggle career goals, financial commitments, relationships, family life and her own perceptions of what achievements quantify to success, left Caitlin putting effort into a couple of areas of her life and neglecting the rest. For the first time in her life, this negligence was towards her own health and wellbeing.

Long commuting hours to work left Caitlin with very little time to exercise. After growing up in an active and healthy household, Caitlin wasn’t happy with her current situation and knew something had to change. In 2007, Caitlin left her job and focused her attention on developing innovative health initiatives to help hectic urbanites navigate their way, healthily and happily, through this fast-paced urban existence. It was here that Health & the City was born.

We want health and happiness
Health & the City believes that everyone has the right to a healthy, happy and fulfilling life. We believe that the key to a healthy and happy life is a balance between work and play. Life should not be about working to live, but about living to work. If our health suffers then we have little chance of achieving our goals in life or looking after the people we care about.

Through interactive, fun and unique programs and products, we equip people from all businesses and backgrounds with the knowledge and skills to personally take control of their health and happiness. For the individual this equates to a more fulfilling life, while for businesses it equates to an increase in productivity and workplace morale, and a reduction in absenteeism. Happy and healthy people achieve more in both work and home life.

We want to support
While it’s you, the individual, who must take the steps towards achieving a happier and healthier life, support and guidance from others is essential for your success. We won’t lie; breaking habits and making changes are not always easy. But, if you step up to the challenge today, you’ll benefit now and for many years to come. If one strategy doesn’t succeed, we’ll try something different. After all success in life is determined by how you handle setbacks. With the right encouragement, practical advice and realistic goals you can feel fantastic, look fabulous, enjoy life and live longer. After all, we were made to...
